Performance NotesThe National Television Awards is firmly established as TV's most exciting night of the year. What will be voted top talk show, most popular soap or favourite actor? All its winners are selected by viewers in a nation-wide poll.

The event was broadcast on ITV1 at 20:00 to an audience of 5.52million.

This was the last NTA event to be held at the Hall before it moved to the O2 Arena, London.

David Tennant announced via a live video link from Stratford-upon-Avon that he would be leaving Doctor Who after playing the role of The Doctor for 3 series. He said after winning the Outstanding Drama Performance, "I've had the most brilliant, bewildering and life-changing time working on Doctor Who, I have loved every day of it. It would be very easy to cling on to the TARDIS console forever and I fear that if I don't take a deep breath and make the decision to move on now, then I simply never will... I don't want to oustay my welcome."

A red carpet was laid in the west car park for VIPs entering via Door 6.

Guests at the event included - Eamon Holmes (presenter) and wife Rith Langsford (presenter), Jo Joyner (actress, Eastenders), Sammy Winwood (actress, Emmerdale), Camilla Dallerup (dancer), Arlene Phillips (choreographer), Samantha Janus (actress, Eastenders), Scott Maslen (actor, Eastenders), Ali Bastian (actress, Hollyoaks), Emma Rigby (actress, Hollyoaks), Michelle Keegan (actress, Coronation Street), Rachel Stevens (singer), Gemma Atkinson (actress, Hollyoaks), Georgina Hagen, Rana Ray, Sapphire Elia, Marquelle Ward, Mitch Hewer, Matthew James Thomas (actors, Britannia High), Gemma Merna (actress, Hollyoaks), Georgia Taylor, Sunetra Sarker, Janine Mellor (actresses, Casualty), Angela Lonsdale (actress, Doctors), Fearne Cotton (presenter), Barbara Windsor (actress), Amanda Holden (actress), Craig Revel Horwood (choreographer), Nitin Ganatra (actor, Eastenders), Nina Wadia (actress, Eastenders), Jake Wood (actor, Eastenders), Suzanne Shaw (actress), Denise Van Outen (presenter, singer), Andrew Castle (presenter), Ola Jordan (dancer), Tess Daly (presenter), Rita Simons (actress, Eastenders), Robert Kazinsky (actor, Eastenders), Jennie McAlpine (actress, Coronation Street), Kara Tointon (actress, Eastenders), Rhea Bailey and Amitra Dhiri (actresses, The Bill), Roxanne McKee (actress, Hollyoaks), Tom Chambers (actor, Holby City) and wife Claire Harding, Myleene Klaas, Laurie Brett (actress, Eastenders), Katherine Kelly, Sally Whittaker, Katy Kavanagh (actresses, Coronation Street), Tiana Benjamin (actress, Eastenders), Alesha Dixon (singer), Lacey Turner (actress, Eastenders), Jodie Kidd (model), Ian Waite (dancer), Kirsty Gallacher (presenter), Kristina Rihanoff (dancer), Claire Cooper (actress, Hollyoaks), Jason Donovan (singer) and wife Angela Malloch, Sir Alan Sugar (businessman) and wife Lady Sugar, Sarah Dunn (actress, Hollyoaks), Carly Stenson (actress, Hollyoaks), Holly Willoughby (presenter), Michael Urie (actor, Glee), Nicolette Sheridan (actress, Desperate Housewives).
