BiographyŽivko Firfov (1906 – 1984) was a Macedonian ethnomusicologist, pedagogue, conductor, and music creator. He received many awards for his rich musical activity, among which the prize honourable doctor of the Geographic Association of Columbia, USA, in 1955. He finished his studies at the music school in Belgrade in 1931. In 1939, he published his first ethnomusicological study in the 'Muzika' magazine, for the interpretation of Macedonian folk song and melographic way of collection. He was devoted to the creation of Ensemble of folk dance and songs.
