BiographyJohnny Carr and the Cadillacs were an English pop band from Bristol founded by David Purslow and Paul Clayton (real name Dave Fahy), with whom he played in the drums and trumpet band of the 1860 squadron of the Air Cadets. They were joined in the Cadillacs by Merv Alexander and Pete O'Connell.

In the early 1960s, the line-up was Purslow on drums, Raymond Truscott (guitar) Johnny Carr (Cornelius O'Sullivan) vocals and Mervyn Alexander on bass. They toured in Germany with The Beatles and they played on the same stage in Hamburg during the 1960s. The band were part of the Kaiserkeller Club scene that the Beatles famously took by storm when the band comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Pete Best and Stuart Sutcliffe.
