Biography | Eric's professional life as a musician started at age 17 in the Music Services of the Royal Air Force, UK.
In 1957 he studied with Professor Norman Richardson, gaining qualifications in conducting at the Royal Academy of Music, London, the Royal College of Music, London and the London Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In 1963 appointed Director of Music, Royal Air Force. He was awarded the MBE for services to music in 1974.
In 1983 he was appointed Principal Director of Music - Royal Air Force, and principal conductor of the Central Band and Symphony Orchestra of the Royal Air Force. By 1985 he was elected a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Musicians, London and in that same year elected a Freeman of the City of London. |
