BiographyUlrike-Anima Mathe - recognized as one of the most outstanding German violin soloists of present time, has studied with Francoise Zöldy in Basel, Dorothy DaLayat at the Julliard School in New York and with Tibor Varga in Detmold. As soloist with well-known orchestras such as the Czech Philharmonic, the Stuttgarter Chamber Orchestra and the Hungarian Radio Orchestra she has received praising reviews for her fascinating interpretations, her suggestive and her intelliegnt sensibility.

Internationale awards- exemple the European Violin Competition 1985 in Vienna, the Young Concert Artists Audition 1988 in New York or the Concours Reine Elizabeth 1989 in Brussels- were followed by engagements at internationally respected concerthalls such as Alice Tully-Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, the Philharmonie in Berlin resp. Cologne and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Ulrike- Anima Mathé is a sought-after soloist at numerous festivals such as Schwetzingen, Lucerne and Salzburg. As a chamber musician she is regular guest at festivals such as Marlboro, Lockenhaus, Prussia Cove and Hitzacker. Her involvement with Contemporary Music and the studies of Historical Performance Practica have added to her artistic profile.
In 1999 she was appointed as violin professor at the Musikhochschule Detmold.
