Biography | Brighton Youth Orchestra was founded in the late 1940s and became the first youth orchestra in Great Britain to be directly supported by the local council. For many years the orchestra has been based at the University of Brighton with whom we maintain strong links.
In recent years BYO has performed with Nicola Benedetti, Evelyn Glennie, John Tomlinson, Richard Durrant, Joanna McGregor and Laura van der Heijden and concerts have taken place in such venues as the Dome concert hall in Brighton to Hong Kong and Berlin. |
