BiographyLynette Alcantara is a mezzo-soprano singer, who graduated from the University of Melbourne. After winning the National Liederfest prize she moved to England in 1992 to study, and joined the BBC Singers. Alcantara has worked for the Victoria State Opera Company, Opera North and has recently performed in Simon Holt's opera The Nightingale's to Blame in Vienna. She also teaches singing and is Director of College Music at Wolfson College, Cambridge where she was made a Fellow.
