BiographyNorman Askew was an organist and choral conductor. He studied organ at Durham Cathedral and went on study music at the University College of the South West and the Royal Academy of Music. Between 1915-1917, he was the organist of the United Methodist Church in Crook, going on to become the organist and choirmaster of the H.M. Chapel Royal of Hampton Court Palace.

From 1928-1942, he was the conductor of the Wimbledon Choral Society and during this time, he gave various organ recitals at the Queen's Hall and Shepherd's Bush Pavilion, many of which were broadcast on the radio.
