Biography | Aristel Skrbic is a postgraduate marimba student at the Royal College of Music with Daniella Ganeva. He is an RCM Scholar supported by the Ackroyd Trust. At the age of fourteen he became a Bachelor of Music student at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz, Austria, studying percussion with Joseph Gumpinger and marimba with Bogdan Bacanu. After moving to the UK in 2010 he began attending private consultations with world famous percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie.
As a marimba soloist he has already performed in the UK, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, and Serbia. He has also shared the stage with prominent marimba players and percussionists such as Nebojsa Jovan Zivkovic, Peter Sadlo, Bogdan Bacanu, and Momoko Kamiya. His appearances include concerts at the Salzburg's Mozarteum, The Museum of London, and at the Mad Marimbas festival in Serbia. Aristel also recorded and released two CD's with original music, Marimba was recorded in 2009 and a special album with relaxation music Marimba in the Sky in 2010. |
