Biography | British mezzo-soprano Rachael Lloyd made her Royal Opera debut in 2011 as Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly). She returns in the 2015/16 Season to sing Alisa (Lucia di Lammermoor).
Lloyd performs throughout the UK and Europe in opera and concert. Operatic engagements include Carmen at the Royal Albert Hall, Pitti-Sing (The Mikado) and Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte) for English National Opera, Aristaea (LOlimpiade) and Blanche (Barbe-bleue) for Buxton Festival, Mrs Anderssen (A Little Night Music) for Théâtre du Châtelet, Maddalena (Rigoletto) for Iford Arts, Amastre (Serse) for English Touring Opera, Dido (Dido and Aeneas) for Theater und Philharmonie Thüringen, Meg Page (Falstaff) for Glyndebourne Touring Opera and Cornelia (Giulio Cesare) for Glyndebourne Festival. Her cover engagements include Sister (The House Taken Over) for Aix-en-Provence Festival.
Lloyds concert engagements include Rossinis Stabat Mater (Ulster Orchestra), Messiah (Kristiansund), Ravels Trois Poèmes de Stéphane Mallarmé (London Philharmonic Orchestra), Schumanns Frauenliebe und -leben and Elgars Sea Pictures (recital at the Lille Opera House, France), The Armed Man A Mass for Peace (Royal Albert Hall) and Elijah at the BBC Proms. |
