Biography | Laura is a session vocalist, concert artist and actress based in London.
Originally from the Midlands, Laura trained at The University of Leeds and The Royal Academy of Music, graduating in 2009 with thanks to the support of The Ian Fleming Musical Theatre Award and The BBC Performing Arts Bursary.
Since graduating Laura has appeared in a number of musicals including understudying the roles of Dorothy and Aunty Em in 'The Wizard of Oz' at The London Palladium and playing Factory Girl and understudying the role of Fantine in the 25th Anniversary International Tour of 'Les Miserables'. Being a part of this particular production also allowed her to perform at The Classical Brit Awards, The Royal Variety Performance, 'Les Miserables in Concert, 25th Anniversary Celebration' at The O2 Arena as well as featuring as the Factory Girl on 'Les Miserables Live! The 2010 Cast Album, New 25th Anniversary Production'. Laura has just finished playing the role of Natalie in the UK Tour of Love Me Tender.
Laura has performed as a soloist with The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and The London Concert Orchestra. She has performed at The Royal Albert Hall a number of times, most notably as a Guest Vocalist for Michael Ball's 'Heroes' Tour, a soloist for Elton John and Raymond Gubbay's Christmas Season, in which she performed a solo concert to 11 000 people.
Laura is a session vocalist and has worked at a number of studio's including Air, Angel and Abbey Road. She has lent her voice to various albums and film soundtrack's including 'Il Divo', 'Sing-The Diamond Jubilee' by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gary Barlow, 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' and most recently 'Into the Woods' by Walt Disney Pictures.
Her television appearances include Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'How do you solve a problem like Maria?', ITV2's 'Lemon La Vida Loca' and Tmobile's 'Welcome Home' Campaign filmed at Terminal 5, Heathrow.
Laura is co-founder of Sapphire Soul, a 3 piece girl group that travel the world singing Musical Theatre, Soul and Pop in very sparkly dresses. |
