BiographyYaroslava Trofymchuk is a Ukrainian cellist and has completed her Master of Performance qualification at the Royal College of Music with Natalie Clein. She is a RCM scholar generously supported by Geoff and Carole Lindey, Sara Naudi and The Zetland Foundation.

Yaroslava has won several prestigious national and international competitions, prizes and awards. Most notably The IV International Lysenko Competition; ‘Best Performer’ Cello Competition for which the prize was XIX century cello made by Charles Jeaucout. During her studies at the RCM, she was the recipients of The John E Mortimer Award by The Philharmonia Orchestra; The Zetland Foundation Award, Stephen Bell Charitable Trust Award and The Albert Cooper Musical Award as well as ABRSM and RCM scholarships. Yaroslava is also supported by the Talent Unlimited Charity.

As a soloist and orchestral performer, Yaroslava has played in some world’s most eminent concert halls including The Wiener Musikverein, The Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, The Konzerthaus Berlin, and was part of the Salzburg and Lucern Festivals. In the UK Yaroslava has performed in Wigmore Hall, the Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall amongst other concert venues.

Yaroslava is a keen orchestral player, she is an active RCM Symphony Orchestra Principal, over years participated in a number of youth orchestras such as I Culture Orchestra and Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester to name but a few and has also performed on multiple occasions with The London Symphony Orchestra as part of The String Experience Scheme and The Philharmonia Orchestra as part of the MMSF Fellowship Scheme.

Yaroslava plays the Joseph Graubaugh & Sigrun Seifert modern cello kindly loaned by the RCM.
