BiographyThe English tenor, Timothy Robinson, completed his study of music at the New College in Oxford, and further studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

After completing his strudies he attained fame in his homeland by giving concerts with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Numerous guest performances followed at venues such as Amsterdam, Vienna, Paris, and the festivals in Aix-en-Provence and Glyndebourne.

His versatility is confirmed by a repertory of operas which ranges from George Frideric Handel's Alcina, Mozart's La clemenza di Tito, and Verdi's Falstaff to Wagner's Tristan und Isolde and Janácek's Katja Kabanova, as well as by his CD recordings, which include, for example, Ralph Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music, cantatas by L.v. Beethoven, and Mozart's Requiem. As a member of the ensemble at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Timothy Robinson sang (among other roles) Vasek in Smetana's Die verkaufte Braut and Froh in Wagner's Rheingold. He has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Sir Simon Rattle, Bernard Haitink, and Charles Mackerras.
