Biography | Peter Ind (20 July 1928 20 August 2021) was a British jazz double bassist and record producer. He studied at Trinity College of Music, London. In 1949 he joined a band on the Queen Mary playing between Southampton and New York. Relocated to New York City in 1951, then Big Sur, California in 1963 and then the UK in 1966.
In 2015, he won the Special Award of the British Parliamentary Jazz Awards. Played on the Hamlet cigar adverts which ised a jazz rendition of Bch's 'Air on the G String'. |
