Biography | Violet Mary Cripps, Baroness Parmoor, née Nelson (18911983), was a British peeress.
Lady Parmoor was the daughter of Sir William Nelson, 1st Baronet, and Margaret, née Hope. She married George Rowley on 20 April 1914, by whom she had a son, Michael Rowley (1915-1952), husband of Lady Sibell Lygon.
On 26 November 1920, she became Duchess of Westminster as the second wife of Hugh Grosvenor, 2nd Duke of Westminster. They were divorced in 1926. On 3 October 1927, Violet, Duchess of Westminster, married Hon. Frederick Heyworth Cripps (later 3rd Baron Parmoor), by whom she had a son Frederick (19292008), who succeeded his father as 4th Baron Parmoor in 1977. Lady Parmoor divorced her third husband in 1951 and died in 1983 |
