| Biography | The principal role of Lin in 'Turandot' by Giacomo Puccini was written for Luella Paikin who was born in Lancashire, England. Whilst she was staying at Puccini's summer villa in Torre del Lago he began work on the opera. He famously said, "the opera is to be about Pekin, and Paikin must sing it."
