Biography | Barbara Dziewiecka was born in 1988 in Kraków, Poland, where she began her music education at the age of six. She won various prizes in youth violin competitions in Poland, including 1st prize in the 1998 Competition for Young Violinists in Limanowa, 2nd prize in the 2002 St. Hajzer Bach Competition in Zielona Góra, and 3rd Prize in the Irena Dubiska Violin Competition in Lódz. In 2006 she was awarded a full scholarship to study with Krzysztof Smietana at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where she completed the Bachelor of Music (Honours) course and got a distinction for her principal study. Currently, Barbara is studying at Royal College of Music in London with Itzhak Rashkovsky holding RCM scholarship and completing the Masters in Performance degree. During her education Barbara was supported by trusts as City of London Corporation, Music Students Hostel Trust and Concordia Foundation. She has appeared as a soloist with the youth orchestra Ostinato in Poland, Germany, France and has given performances in Philharmonic Halls in Krakow, Lódz, Zielona Góra, Opole in Poland, Stuttgart Music Academy Hall, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, St. Jamess Piccadilly and Elgar Room in Royal Albert Hall in London. She participated in various international masterclasses with Kaja Danczowska, Jan Stanienda, Adam Korniszewski, Leonid Kerbel, Mari Tampere-Bezrodny, Michael Vaiman, Tomasz Tomaszewski, Rivka Golani, Kevin Kenner, Belcea Quartet and Chillingirian Quartet. Her orchestral experience includes projects conducted by Vasily Petrenko, Sir John Elliot Gardiner, James Gaffigan, Paul Daniel and Daniel Stabrawa. Recently, Barbara became a member of the unique chamber ensemble Orchestra of Life formed by Nigel Kennedy, performing in the most prestigious venues including Berlin Philharmonic, Cologne Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Staadcasino Basel, Palais des Congres in Paris, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall and Barbican in London. Barbara is a passionate and active chamber musician, a founder of A Piacere Trio. The ensemble is based in London and regularly performs within the UK and in Poland.
