Biography | Leonel Pinheiro, a London based tenor, was born in Braga, Portugal.
He completed his Degree in Music Teaching (Singing) at the University of Aveiro, under the tuition of Antonio Salgado and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Concert Singing at Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with Peter Alexander Wilson, where he took part in Masterclasses with such names as Malcolm Martineau. Leonel Pinheiro recently graduated with distinction from the Opera Course at Guildhall School of Music & Drama where he studied with Susan McCulloch. His studies where kindly supported by the Worshipful Company of Saddlers, the Roseberry Scholarship, the Blanch Gertrude Lynch Memorial Scholarship and the Music Students' Hostel Trust.
Through his Guildhall Artist Fellowship, Leonel Pinheiro was a guest teacher of singing at City University of London and a Learning Repertoire Coach at Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

Recently he did his Royal Albert Hall debut in the role of Il Messaggero in the Raymond Gubbay production of Aida. Oratorio highlights include: Mozarts Missa Brevis in D, José Maria Vitiers Misa Cubana, Handels Messiah, Orffs Carmina Burana, Charpentiers Te Deum and Rossinis Petite Messe Solennelle.
Leonel Pinheiro is the recipient of the Patrick Libby prize for acting.
