Biography | Roger Barsotti was a British composer and conductor.
He began his career with the Hastings Municipal Orchestra, then joining the "Buffs" regiment band in 1916 where he soon became Band Sergeant. A student of the Royal Military School of Music, in 1930 he became bandmaster (the appointment lasted a decade and a half) of the Queen's Royal Regiment in 1930. Following thirty years of service he retired from the British Army in 1946, he began a 22-year career as director of the London Metropolitan Police Band. |
