BiographyMatthew Rowe’s conducting career encompasses film scores, classical, ballet, opera, light music, and diverse education projects. His precise technique and meticulous preparation help him achieve a distinctive orchestral sound, making him much in demand for both live performances and recordings.

He has appeared with all the BBC orchestras as well as the London Mozart Players, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and a number of Scandinavian orchestras. He has a particularly close relationship with Denmark, and visits often for concerts, recordings and touring projects.

Born in London, Matthew Rowe has studied conducting at home and abroad, and has participated in conducting masterclasses with Peter Eötvös and Ton Koopman, among others. He has won prizes at a number of international conducting competitions including the 1999 Leeds Conductors Competition.
