Biography | General Sir Frank Walter Messervy, KCSI, KBE, CB, DSO & Bar, (1893, Trinidad1974, Heyshott near Midhurst, England), was a British Indian Army officer in both the First and Second World Wars. Following its independence, he was the first Army Commander of Pakistan Army (15 August 1947 10 February 1948). Previous to this he had become a Lieutenant-General in 1945; General 1947; General Officer Commanding in Chief or (GOC-in-C) Northern Command, India (19461947). |
