Biography | Allan Sternfield was born in the United States and studied at the Peabody Conservatory. Since moving to Israel in 1976, Allan Sternfield has been active in the musical life there, appearing as soloist with orchestras, in chamber music concerts, in solo recitals and on the radio. In addition to his wide and varied classical repertoire he also performs Israeli and American piano music, as well as works by composers who were killed in the Holocaust (Klein, Ullman, Schulhof, Haas and others). Sternfield has been on the faculty of The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance since 1976.
Sternfield has performed extensively in the United States, Europe, Israel, South America and the Far East, and has recorded a wide variety of solo repertoire, chamber music, and concerti for radio stations in Scandinavia, Israel, Hong Kong and Western and Eastern Europe (including live and recorded recitals for the BBC). |
