Performance NotesReleased in May 1969 Tommy was the fourth studio album by The Who, mostly composed by guitarist Pete Townshend, as a rock opera that tells the story about a boy with deafblindness, including his experiences with life and the relationship with his family.

In 1972 the Royal Albert Hall had cancelled a scheduled production of Tommy due to the ‘unsavoury’ content of the material.

The Who’s tour of 1989 was to celebrate their 25th Anniversary and was the band’s only tour between 1982 and 1996.
