"3,000 CHILDREN TO THANK QUEEN MARY.
ALBERT HALL PROGRAMME.
About 3,000 London schoolchildren are to say "Thank You" with songs, dancing and music, in the Albert Hall on Saturday for having been given the chance to see the Coronation procession. Queen Mary will receive their thanks at the performance.
An audience of 8,000 will demonstrate its opinion of the show at a dress rehearsal on Friday.
Musical items, massed singing, orchestral playing, and a Pageant of Empire will form the programme. A children's choir of 1,650 voices will sing to the accopaniment of a children's orchestra of more than 200 performers. This will be the first occassion on which a massed schoolchildren's choir has sung in the Albert Hall with its own children's orchestra."
(The Daily Telegraph, 30 September 1937)

"Queen Mary so enjoyed the children's concert at the Albert Hall on Saturday that she stayed throughout the two-hour programmes, instead of for only an hour, as she had intended...
Queen Mary received an illuminated programme from Eileen Baker, 12, representing North London schools. Patsy Gladding, six, of Beaufort House, representing South London, presented a bouquet of her Majesty's favourite pink carnations."
(The Daily Telegraph, 4 October 1937)

The Queen was attended by the Dowager Lady Ampthill and Lt.-Colonel Sir Reginald Seymour.
