Performance NotesThe event was an interdenominational service to commemorate all those who had died at the hands of Communism. The organiser of the event , Geoffrey Stewart-Smith, estimated that the total was then approximately 95 million people, which was printed on the back of the programme of service. It was estimated that more than 4,500 refugees from behind the Iron Curtain were in attendance. The event was designed to manifest British support for all those who, remporarily condemned to live under Communist tyranny, strive ceaselessly for the liberty Britons enjoyed.
