Performance NotesThis was the debut performance of the United Hospitals Festival Choir - most of its members appeared in nurses' uniform.

"The performance at the Albert Hall last night was in the charge of Mr Josef Krips with the London Symphony Orchestra in support and a team of excellent soloists headed by Mr Norman Walker, who dealt roundly and justly with the temperamental Prophet. Most of the concerted numbers were transferred from soloists, who rarely blend, to the choir, which certainly did, but there was one delightful surprise - a choir of boys sang 'Lift Thine Eyes' from the organ gallery."
