Performance Notes | Our intimate Late Night Jazz series presents sensational music in the sultry setting of the Royal Albert Halls Elgar Room.
Exceptionally talented London based jazz vocalist Zoe Francis presents her own distinct take on the Great American Songbook, with her band Jim Mullen (guitar), Stan Sulzmann (tenor saxophone) and Mick Hutton (bass).
Zoe learned her craft while living in New York, attending Barry Harris workshops and singing in small Manhattan venues alongside great musicians such as Harry Allen and Joe Cohn. Now an established figure on both the New York and London jazz scene, Zoe released her debut album, Looking for a Boy, in 2013.
she retains an almost diffident charm and a vocal quality that seems to hark back to band singers of the thirties and forties (londonjazznews.com) |
