Born in London, Parry Ray grew up in a traditional Indian family in North London listening to a rich and varied soundtrack featuring everything from Chet Baker to Chaka Khan and Ravi Shankar.
From a very young age she developed her love for singing whilst performing in choirs and musicals. Studying piano, guitar and voice, Parry started jazz lessons alongside her classical training at the age of 11. |
