| Performance Notes | Born in the small English town of Marlow, 22 year-old Matt Gallagher's skills as an ardent singer/songwriter and blues guitarist earned him a place at the Royal College of Music at 18 years old. His punchy first single "Never Woke Up" hit over 45,000 streams on SoundCloud at the start of 2016. He's also had success recording and producing recent 'BBC Introducing Record of the Week' for fellow indie-band TORVA, as well as separately being awarded 'Record of the Week' for his own single "Reels Of Film" in December 2016.
Matt's music is heavily influenced by singer/guitarist virtuosos like John Mayer and Prince, which one can see in his live 6-piece band performances. His latest single "Sway With You" (released 20th January 2017) is an upbeat, funk-influenced track, and was co-written with Molly Lawes, who has written for the likes of Jamie Cullum and Imogen Heap in the past. |
