| Performance Notes | Soul star Michael Kiwanuka will make his headline debut at the Royal Albert Hall in 2017 in a special Albert Sessions concert.
Since topping the BBC Sound of 2012 list, he has garnered huge critical acclaim, two Mercury Prize nominations, and comparisons to great artists including Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers and Otis Redding.
After the success of his 2012 debut Home Again, Kiwanuka returned in 2016 with a second record following four years of self-questioning and a loss of confidence in his craft. The resulting album, Love & Hate, has been heralded one of the most expansive albums of the year, and one that should surely stand the test of time. Working alongside Danger Mouse, Inflo and his long-standing producer Paul Butler, Love & Hate showcases the extraordinary vision of this uncompromising young British artist in delivering a near-peerless record.
