Performance NotesOur intimate Late Night Jazz series presents sensational music in the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room.

Women and the Hall celebrates the women who were instrumental in the fight for women’s suffrage, and provides a platform for the women who are shaping our future, through a season of talks, film screenings and performances.

Black Voices are the leading, all-female a cappella collective in Europe, and are globally celebrated for bringing the black oral tradition to the a cappella world stage. There is a diverse range of musicality and genres in their performances and the simple beauty and power of the human voice that they present.

Black Voices have opened for some of the greatest names in music, including Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba, Fisk Jubilee Singers and Take 6. Recently the group has undertaken successful tours of Malaysia, Myanmar and Egypt with The British Council, and made their debut at The Jazz Cafe in Camden, celebrating the music of Nina Simone and Billie Holiday in sell-out shows.
