Performance NotesAs part of our Festival of Science: Space, Classic Album Sundays’ Colleen Murphy and Tom Middleton will explore the influence of space on Middleton’s work including the seminal 76:14, widely considered as one of the best British dance albums of all time.

Classic Album Sundays is an immersive shared listening experience which allows fans to get as close as possible to the artist’s music – with focus on their influential albums and songs – through stories told by the artist and listening to music on a world-class audiophile hi-fi system.

The discussion will also look at Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard’s projects outside of Global Communication, with a focus on Reload’s A Collection of Short Stories, Jedi Knights’ New School Science.

In addition Middleton will focus on the cosmos’ influence on his new Sci-Fi/Sci-Fact concept album – an imaginary soundtrack to anthropocene man’s search for a habitable exoplanet in our neighbouring star systems.

The interview will be augmented by playbacks of these works on an audiophile hi-fi sound system courtesy of Grahams Hi-Fi, Rega, Naim and Bowers and Wilkins. Music from Tom’s main inspirations including composers Isao Tomita, Vangelis and Jean Michel Jarre will also be played.

The event was streamed on Classic Album Sunday's Facebook page.
