Performance NotesThe Royal Albert Hall will once again play host to one date of Squeeze’s ‘The Difford And Tilbrook Songbook 2019’ tour of the UK in October 2019.

The South-London legends first came onto the music scene over forty years ago, but the maturity of their catalogue of songs, which includes Cool For Cats, Up The Junction and Tempted has outlived their initial burst of chart activity on the back of New Wave.

The band’s Ivor Novello Award-winning songwriting duo Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook relaunched Squeeze in 2007, and released two critically acclaimed albums in the past three years.

‘The Difford and Tilbrook Songbook 2019’ tour will capture the works of one of the most prolific and acclaimed songwriting partnerships sill working today. The band will bring their scintillating live performances back to the iconic Royal Albert Hall in 2019, treating their fans to not just the hits, but also rarities that span their 45-year career both as Squeeze and solo artists.

Support will come from Sheffield new-wave and synth-pop act Heaven 17.

The first support act, Leon Tilbrook and the Wilhelm Scream are only 16 years old and attending the Brit School. Leon Tilbrook is the son of the Squeeze musician Glen Tilbrook.
