Performance NotesJoin us on an epic musical celebration of the Royal Albert Hall’s 150th birthday and the first full-capacity event to be held at the Royal Albert Hall since March 2020 when the Hall closed due to the government's Covid-19 regulations.

To mark the auspicious occasion, David Arnold (James Bond films, Independence Day, Sherlock) turns his compositional genius to create a musical history of the Hall.

The ten movements of this epic new work give a snapshot of the Hall’s unique history in a sonic journey through science, war and the suffragettes through to the present day and into the future.

David will bring his work to life on stage with local schools and choirs, all of whom, along with other community groups, have played an important part in the composition of this amazing piece. And will be supported by our very own Albert’s Orchestra and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.

There will also be special guest appearances from some beloved famous faces, who’ll be reading exclusive introductions for each movement that has been penned by outstanding British writers including Neil Gaiman, Jack Thorne, Joe Penhall and Laura Wade.

Creative agency People - who produced the show and visuals for the 2019 Special Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies - and film production house White Stone Media will bring the show to life on the big screen.

Guests in the audience included Nitin Sawhney, Sir Cameron Mackintosh, Paul Scully MP, and the Rt Hon Oliver Dowden MP (Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport).
