Performance NotesThe Duke of Edinburgh, President of the Royal Albert Hall Orchestral Society, also played the violin at this concert. This was advertised as the first of four Private Concerts for members of the orchestra and their friends, proprietors of the Royal Albert Hall and honorary members of the society.

The Times reported the next day that disappointment had been caused by the Duke of Edinburgh, not playing a solo as had been rumoured, 'contenting himself to associate with the rest of the orchestra like any ordinary fiddler'.

The Princess of Wales was attended by the Hon. Mrs W Grey, Lord Colville and Mr Holzmann.

Tickets could be obtained through the lady patroness of the hospital.
