| Performance Notes | The Archbishop of Westminster announced that a planned procession of the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of London to have taken place the next day was, as a result of communications with the Prime Minister, cancelled;
"This eleventh hour announcement affecting what was regarded as the most importan part in the Congress proceedings instantly aroused a deep feeling of resentment. Loud cries of 'Shame' resounded throughout the hall, folllowed by booing and hisses."
