Performance Notes
The event organised by the Advent Testimony and Preparation Movement met to anticpate the Second Coming of Christ.
In Rev. Dinsdale T Young's speech he said that all the earthquakes that were occurring in various parts of the world were among the signs of the Second Coming.
"Miss Christabel Pankhurst said they held that the present condition of the world gave manifold signs that the Lord was soon to reappear. The Church had reached a point when His presence was absolutely necessary. There was no warrant for the belief that the earth would gradually grow better. That could only come by some cataclysm, some great act of God to which man would contribute nothing. The bishops and also the leaders of the Free Churches needed the courage to give the great tidings that the coming of Christ drew nigh. The crowning sign was the return of the Jews to Palestine, and that was the sign that brought that movement into being."
