Performance Notes | The Higher Planes are a folk-rock quintet that blends the jazz-inflected fingerpicking of Bert Jansch and Pentangle with mellow Mamas and Papas harmonies and a little acid guitar. The listening experience serves as a clear reminder that the timeless combination of folk, blues and soul still ring true in our times.
Its safe to say that The Planes have been around a bit, growing up playing together since 2012 in the wilds of London and beyond. After humble beginnings on the streets of Aix-en-Provence, theyve taken in international music festivals, dive gigs, weddings, a UK tour supporting Hurray for the Riff Raff, and released some home-grown music along the way, with radio play on BBC Introducing for their latest EP Tidal Wave, and a host of international stations. |
