Performance NotesClassically trained musician and hirsute comedian Bill Bailey’s surreal and musical imagination is let loose on the brilliantly versatile BBC Concert Orchestra. Find out about cockney trombones, bassoon secrets, TV and film themes, and hear brand new versions of some of Bill's songs plus loads more in this irreverent guide to the orchestra, which The Times described as 'blissfully funny' and Stephen Fry called ' wonderfully enjoyable... like driving a Rolls Royce off-road'.

Bill Bailey is a comedian, musician and actor most well known for live shows 'Bewilderness' and 'Part Troll', and his work on television in programmes such as 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' and 'Black Books'. Since the beginning of 2008, Bill has been featured in programmes as diverse as 'Desert Island Discs' and 'Skins', guest hosted 'Have I Got News For You', appeared at various festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe and the Eden Project's first ever Comedy Session, and his voice has been heard in Radio 4 shows 'The Museum of Curiosity' and 'The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists'.

The concert was recorded and released on 23 November 2009 as a DVD, 'Bill bailey's Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra, Live at the Royal Albert Hall'.
