| Performance Notes | Following an absence from singing for 7 years whilst she pursued a spiritual trail (singing for the Dalai Lama) Gill Manly came back to jazz in 2007 triumphantly, and on more than good form, reminding us all that she was and always has been the London Jazz Diva.
Combining smooth elegance and dramatic power developed over time, Gill has resurfaced on a level that has been hailed as "sublime", "world class" and "masterful". Gill can be seen and heard at all the great venues, Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express, 606 Club, and recently supported Bobby McFerrin at the Royal Festival Hall.
Gill will be joined by Simon Wallace. Simon has performed with groups of many genres in 24 countries across 4 continents. He has recorded with guitar hero Jeff Beck and performed with guitar legend Hubert Sumlin. He has composed and written theme songs for innumerable TV shows including Ben Elton, Ruby Wax and Tracy Ullman to name a few. |
