Performance NotesThe celebrated Royal Choral Society was formed as part of the Royal Albert Hall’s official opening, and the 150-strong choir has sung here every Christmas since 1872. This year will be a very special 150 year anniversary concert, accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Richard Cooke.

Plus, special guests have now been announced. We look forward to welcoming Fanfare Trumpeters of the British Imperial Military Band and soprano Mary Bevan to the stage.

In honour of Ukraine, a beautiful Ukrainian carol Spy Isuse Spy (Sleep Jesus Sleep) by Roxanna Panufnik will be performed, alongside the famous Carol of the Bells by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych.

We can’t wait to welcome the choir back to its spiritual home this Christmas. Plus, there will be traditional carols for the audience to singalong with too!
