| Performance Notes | Darius leads his band with an invigorating mix of African lilt, Latin frisson and modern jazz arrangements. Darius Brubeck (pianist/composer) leads his jazz quartet who will play music from their new CD, "For Lydia and the Lion".
The band features excellent contemporary saxophonist, Mike Rossi, who has performed internationally with Darius over the last 20 years. Based in Cape Town, Rossi has published books on improvisation and gives master-classes in Europe and the United States. Darius' regular London rhythm section is Matt Ridley (bass), whose resume includes the National Youth Jazz orchestra and South African, Wesley Gibbens on drums. |
