Performance Notes
'Previous to the performance of Elijah by Mr William Carter's choir on Thursday evening last, Mr Carter announced that it had been considered appropriate that the audience should have an opportunity of expressing their abhorrence of the infamous crime that had been perpetrated in Russia and their sympathy with the Duchess of Edinburgh and the other members of the Imperial Family. The Russian National Hymn was then performed on the Grand Organ by Mr Edwin Bending, the whole of the large audience standing '.
