Performance NotesThe BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards is the annual awards ceremony that celebrates and rewards the best in folk music from the previous 12 months. Hosted by Mark Radcliffe and Julie Fowlis, this year's event will feature 8 live performances from a number of both new and established folk artists, including special collaborations, as well as the presentation of 13 awards. The 2014 awards are the event's 15th anniversary.

The event was broadcast live on BBC Radio 2.

During the interval, behind the scenes footage of the Radio 2 Young Folk Award Weekend was shown. Cecil Sharp was posthumously honoured by being the first person inaugurated into the Folk Hall of Fame, marked by Ashley Hutchins portraying Sharp (with pipe and bicycle), music from John and Benji Kirkpatrick, Paul Sartin and Simon Care, followed by a performance by Morris Offspring, led by EFDSS Associate Artist Laurel Swift.
