| Performance Notes | The Royal College of Music Junior Department Wind Octet comprises the section leaders of the RCMJD Symphony Orchestra (many are also members of the National Youth Orchestra) and rehearses each term time Saturday for just one hour under the direction of Guy Cowley. They have explored octet repertoire by Malcolm Arnold, Beethoven, Dvorak, Jonathan Dove, Krommer and Mozart amongst others and perform regularly in Junior Department concerts along with chamber concerts outside of the college. In the past few years the Octet has featured in Senior RCM concerts, most recently for memorial concerts celebrating the life of former RCM professor and Wind Octet tutor Nicholas Hunka. |
