Performance Notes | "GIGLI AT THE ALBERT HALL. WILD WELCOME SCENES. There were wild scenes of enthusiasm at the London conert debut of the Itlaina tenor, Beniamino Gigli, last night at the Albert Hall. As he won his way with the audience the temperature rose, and the atmosphere became more like that of a boxing-match than a normal concert, with rival groups excitedly shouting demands for this or that favourite song. When Gigli had sung for two hours with only one break there was a rush to the platform, and all who could get near enough attempted to shake hands or pat him on the back."
