Performance NotesMore than 250,000 people bought tickets to hear the 49 concerts comprising the 52nd season of the Proms. Because of this success the BBC arranged a special short winter season of Promenade Concerts at the Hall in January 1947. This was the first time that there had been such a season since the BBC took over management of the concerts.
