Performance Notes | "Edwards asked for people with slipped disc trouble or those wearing a neck collar or surgical corset. His first patient was a woman who had worn a plastic collar for ten years. She had removed it on Sunday due to the high temperature. After treatment she was able to raise the healer's hands without any effort. The last time she tried such a manovere she said it hurt. Michael Woods... was the first male patient. He had had healing at Burrows Lea... ten years ago, he told me. Woods had been unable to work for over three years. After treatment he walked up and down the platform steps, marked time with both legs and walked back to his seat without the aid of his stick. Mrs Dorothy Elliott... had her first ever treatment from Edwards. She was one of a large coach party. ... The informal atmosphere at the Albert Hall resembled a birthday party for a well-loved uncle given by his huge family. ... NFSH chairman Dennis Fare made the first presentation, a bust of the famous healer. He recalled how in 1954 when the federation was conceived, Edwards was invited to be its president and member number one. 'Though then well known he has since made spirit healing respectable and practical. He is so young in heart - a true Peter Pan.' A surprise presentation was made by Barbanell. This was a cast of Edwards' chubby healing heands from Bulawayo Spiritualist Church congregation. They were made by Ken Oakes when Edwards and Olive paid their historic healing visit to Rhodesia a few months ago." (Psychic News, 2 June 1973) |
