Performance Notes"One vital change to Sunday's service was the introduction of youth's voice. Medium Robin Stevens, 27, addressed the audience under the title ;Youth Speaks for Spiritualism. ... The medium said many youngsters accepted survival of physical death as an 'intrinstic part of their own progress.' They have played their own progress.'"

Magdalene Kelly's demonstration:
"The drama began when Magdalene Kelly faced nearly 6,000 people and asked Cecil to speak. 'I get a duke,' she added as two hand wave. 'And the nickname Dudie.' One man's heart leapt. It was his mother's pet name, and he was Cecil Duke. The medium told another distant figure her name was Brenda Kent. Magdalene told the recipient: 'A man tells me his name is Kent, K-E-N-T. There is Henry, and Brenda.' Mrs Kent's 'dead' husband is Henry. 'He was well known and interested in public affairs.' Henry Kent worked for a local authority. 'When on earth he was interested in antiques.' ... 'I get the name Cockerell,' Magdalene said. This was Mrs Kent's maiden name. 'You have two spirit sisters, one Kathleen, called Kate.. 'What is the connection with St Andrew's?' queried the medium. 'That is the name of the road,' replied the astonished recipient. ... The evidence flowed from Eliza Duke, who said her son was connected with cars. Magdalene, who did not always rely on the microphones to reach her vast audience asked what 'Gig' meant, and sent Mrs Duke's love to Rose, who head helped her during her last years. Rose turned out to be none other than Rose Baston, who was housekeeper and companion to famous Spiritiualist journalist Hannen Swaffer. She testified to Magdalene's first class Survival evidence. Her brother Cecil has always been in the car trade. 'Gig' is his wife's nickname! She, too, was present. ...
A grey-haired woman with spectacles agreed her grandfather's name had been William and recognised a 'dead' friend named Tom. 'There is an Irish link and he was a policeman,' Magdalene said. 'Yes' came the reply. ... 'I am rather puzzled because I seem to feel I am in a hospital,' Magdalene added. The woman said she worked in a hospital. 'There is a young man called Lance, who passed in war conditions,' awas the next spirit statement to be confirmed. ... The recipient recognised a man named Bristow who was interested in politics and a woman from Southend, Essex, who passed with a chest and lung condition. 'You have strong links with Belfast?' 'Yes I have.' 'There is a man looking for Margaret,' Magdalene said in another message. This was Margaret Hopcraft... Magdalene mentioned the name of her two cats, John and Peter, a miniature given by her aunt and musical links. 'I was once a professional singer.' the recipient said later. Other facts were correct."

Dorothy Smith's demonstration:
"Psychically she saw George, a Naval enginteer who lost his earthly life in the engine room of HMS Hood. A grey-haired woman in the areana immediately recognised him. ... Dorothy relayed evidence from a woman who died in the London blitz. The names Elizabeth and Will whom she had met on the Other Side, were identified along with a November anniversary. Two blind people were recognised when they communicated through Dorothy. One, born sightless, had abeen a skilled knitter... A young man, Jim, was described. He lost his sight in the war and said his picture arrived home after he was killed. Another war casualty, a Battle of Britain pilot was recognised. He gave the names John, Eddie and Frank, and asked for Margaret. '... "

"The programme repeated a request from previous years, 'No applause please.' To me this is inhibiting, stifling a natural expression of apprecaition which would make the service more human."(Psychic News editior)
