Performance NotesThis was the first World Professional Boxing Championship ever to be held in the Hall.

Howard Winstone defeated Mitsunori Seki to win the vacant WBC world featherweight after Seki was stopped in the ninth round due to a cut eye. Since the retirement of Vicente Saldivar , boxing has waited for a new World Featherweight Champion.

The bout between Howard Winstone and Mitsunori Seki was broadcast on BBC television at 19:30 on 24 January 1968 with commentator Harry Carpenter and presenter A P Wilkinson.
